Chris Begley

Chris was born in country Victoria, Australia, 1974.

He moved to Melbourne after graduating high school to study for 6 years, completing an Advanced Certificate in Art and Design at RMIT and a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Television at The Victorian College of Arts.

After his studies, he took a position at Colors Melbourne, located in the same building as its affiliate agency George Patterson Bates, where I worked as a storyboard artist and off-line editor in their Melbourne, Sydney and Singapore offices.

In 1997 I was taken on as a TVC director by production company Renegade Films after the owners attended a screening of a short film I'd made. I was being awarded jobs in the following year and began developing a reel with an emphasis on comedy and performance.

After a busy few years of Australian and New Zealand work and a Cannes Lion nomination for a spot for, I was awarded a job in Singapore. This proved a very rewarding experience and led to back-to-back work there for almost a year. I've since worked for extended periods in parts of Asia, including China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, India and Cambodia.

Recent work includes commercials for Huawei - Shanghai, Samsung - Beijing, Tiger Beer - Singapore and Far East Tone - Taiwan while NTUC Income - Singapore took a swag of awards in early 2013 including the MediaCorp Laurel Awards: Gold and Creative Circle Awards: Silver and Bronze.
