Paolo Dy is a Filipino feature film and commercial director with a lifelong passion for great storytelling in all forms. As both writer and visualist, he loves the challenge of capturing the essence and emotional core of every subject, and bringing it vibrantly to life on screen.
He’s shot over a hundred commercials in the Asia-Pacific region, including spots for Air Asia, Procter & Gamble, Colgate-Palmolive, SC Johnson, Kraft Foods, Aji-no-moto, Monde Nissin, Wyeth, Pizza Hut and Kenny Rogers Roasters, among many others. His work has aired in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Korea, Australia, and the United States, and he directed the first stereo 3D commercial to air in the Philippines.
Paolo’s debut feature is the historical epic ‘Ignacio de Loyola’, which was shot in Spain and premiered at the Vatican in Rome. It was released theatrically in the U.S., Canada, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK in 2016, and won the Audience Choice award from the Festival Internacional de Cine Con Valores in Guadalajara.
